Spirulina Sinking Wafers
Our Sinking Wafers are made with human grade
quality ingredients. Featuring spirulina algae, dried vegetables &
freeze-dried shrimp our wafers are designed for herbivore or
omnivore fish that require less animal proteins in their diets such
as certain species of cichlids, catfish, carps, and barbs.
The wafers sink to the bottom, so are particularly good for bottom
feeders or algae eaters, grazers and fish that feed at night times.

A diet high in animal proteins and fats can result in fatty deposits
around organs such as the kidneys and liver, negatively affecting a
fish's health, especially in herbivore fish. Our wafers have a
high level of vegetable proteins, such as spirulina and ground peas, that
supply vitamins and minerals in a form that is more easily
digestible to these types of fish and helps to prevent bloat.

Spirulina, is a species of blue-green algae, is a
superior vegetable protein with essential fatty acids and, an
excellent source of vitamins and minerals such as iron and
calcium.

We chose green peas
and lentils as vegetables in our fishfood as they are a rich source of vegetable proteins, vitamins,
and minerals. Alfalfa also supplies proteins, minerals
(especially calcium and iron) and a variety of vitamins, as well
as being a good source of chlorophyll and fibre.
We use guar gum in our mixture as a emulsifier and binder to
prevent premature dissolving of our product before fish can find
the food. Guar gum comes from the seeds of the guar bean
plant, and is a source of dietary fibre. We have added olive oil for a source of fatty acids, vitamin E, and a natural polyphenol antioxidant.
All the ingredients we use in our pet treats and fish food are acceptable under the Canadian Feeds Regulations, 1983 SOR/83-593, under the Feeds Act ( R.S., 1985, c. F-9)
